Packed lunches for small appetites

A big sandwich can be a lot to face at 1pm. A small box of bits is easier: you can graze, stop when you've had enough and finish the rest later.
Build a snack-box lunch
Pick one or two from each line.
- Protein: a boiled egg, a cheese portion, a pot of cottage cheese, tinned tuna or sardines, edamame, chicken bites.
- Fibre and crunch: oatcakes, wholemeal crackers, carrot and cucumber sticks, cherry tomatoes, an apple.
- Something tasty: hummus, a spoonful of chutney, a few olives.
Five ready-made combinations
- Two oatcakes, a pot of herby cottage cheese and cherry tomatoes
- A tuna, egg and green bean mini salad
- Two egg and spinach bites with cucumber sticks
- A small pot of edamame with a satsuma
- Half a wholemeal pitta, hummus and a cheese portion
Keeping it fresh
- Use an insulated bag with an ice pack for anything from the fridge.
- Keep dressings in a separate small pot until you eat.
- Eggs, cheese and fish should be eaten the same day if they've been out of the fridge.
